This event took place over was dedicated to uncovering the history of cultural exchange between the two countries over the last hundred years.
This two-day symposium at the University of Aberdeen featured talks by historians, sociologists and literary scholars from both Scottish and Russian studies. It explored the role of travel writing, poetry and art in cultural mediation, the experience of national bridge-building organisations, as well as political perceptions circa 1914 and 2014, in relation to the Great War and Revolution and the Scottish Independence Referendum. Speakers included Prof Anthony Cross and Lt Cdr Dairmid Gunn.
